What are Factions?

Factions are teams that member's of our official Discord server can join to participate in community events. They each come with their own private, members-only chat to plot and strategize against rival Factions.

What are Faction Fights?

Faction Fights are community events where Factions compete against each other for high scores playing a game on Kongregate.com.

How to participate in a Faction Fight:

• STEP 1

Choose your faction by going to the Kongregate Discord server and making your selection in the #faction-fights channel.

• STEP 2

“Link” your Discord account to your Kongregate account by sending a Private Message to AdrianKon that includes your full discord ID (ex: ElleKong#1234).

If you don’t already have a Kongregate account, you can sign up for free.

After you’ve completed these steps,
you won’t have to repeat them for the future Faction Fights.

Once your message is sent, we can easily track top scores and we’ll know how to contact you about prizes if your faction wins!

• STEP 3

Play the game in the Faction Fight & have fun! Head over to the game being featured in the Faction Fight and play as much as you like. You have until the contest ends, so keep trying for your best score possible!  Remember, only accounts associated with factions will be counted, so make sure you’ve chosen a side on Discord!

• STEP 4

Check for news about the winner announcements.

Faction Fights are a new feature of the Discord Community, so the details of how points and scores are calculated will be determined per event, depending on how many people are participating. We're learning as we go with these events, so please be patient with us while we try to set rules that keep things as fair as possible.

What if my team is smaller than the other teams?

❓ What if my team is smaller than the other teams?

To keep things fair, Faction Fight events will be scored by how many members each Faction gets into a predetermined number of high score positions.

For example, one faction might have something silly like 72 members while another only has 21 members. However, when events are announced they will include how many point-earning positions will be available such as, “The top 12 players will each earn their Faction 100 points.”

This means that the larger Faction may have more players who COULD get into the top 12, but if the smaller team has at least 12 strong players, they still have a chance to sweep the event.

Because of this, points will always be equal for each top scorer position. The only difference between 1st place and 4th place will be bragging rights 😉

❓ What if there is a tie?

Different Kongregate games will have different scoring systems, and so in some cases, ties might be much more likely. If the tie occurs within the top scores, we will only adjust how we present them; there will be no impact on the overall point totals.

For example, a Top 20 might end at 18th place if three people are sharing 5th place.

Points will always be distributed based on who is in the top positions on the leaderboard. Everything else is just for fun.

However, in a different example, if we have a Top 15 event that ends with a tie between the 14th, 15th, AND 16th place, we will award the 16th place’s faction with points as if they were in the Top 15.

❓ What if I already have the highest score I can get in this Fight’s game?

Awesome! You’ve helped your Faction out a lot before you even knew what you were doing! 😃

However, this is a team event and so your contribution alone won’t be enough to win. Use your faction’s private Discord channel to swap strategies, and coach your allies into top scoring positions for more points.

❓ What do we get if we win?

The top scorers will all earn points for their Faction. Factions that earn the most points earn a prize for all members! The prize will vary from event to event and will include things like Discord Nitro, game codes, Kreds, gift cards, and unique titles in the Discord server. 

You’ll also get a shout out with leaderboard updates and your faction will be as the current reigning champions, displayed in the server channels list.
