Kongregate uses a series of automated filters to catch and hide content that might be inappropriate for our community. If you post something that violates our behavior guidelines, the post may become hidden.
For example, posting any of the following items may result in a post being automagically hidden:
- Strong profanity, especially slurs or mature language
- Inappropriate, mature or graphic images
- Links to sites with mature content
- Spam or advertising links
If one of your posts was hidden for one of these reasons, you will see a redacted version of the text when you revisit it. Other readers of that forum will not see your username. Posts that are under review will remain hidden until our team reviews them, usually no more than 24 hours.
Once a post has been hidden, our community managers will review the post and decide whether or not to unhide the post. Depending on the content of the post, further action may be taken in accordance with our behavioral guidelines.
Trust me, I’m a good poster!
If you’re finding a lot of your posts are being hidden, try posting helpful content or positive feedback for other users for a while. Our filters reward positive behavior with increased freedom and less blocked posts.
In addition, most posts from new or newly-active accounts that contain links or images will be held for review for a short time. Keep in mind that your behavior on all parts of our platform will affect how strictly the filters handle the content you put on Kongregate and Kartridge!
