Why is Kongregate charging me VAT?

We are legally required to charge VAT based upon the tax rate in the country where the player is located. This means that we must charge the tax and send the money to the local tax authorities in the applicable countries.

We know that our legal requirement to charge VAT in the country where you are located will result in increased cost, but hope you continue to support us and our need to comply with the law. This price increase will go into effect on November 4, 2015.
